That tagline just about says it all. I first got to know Jeff through his efforts at the short story anthology podcast he ran, Great Hites. I submitted a handful of stories to it and that was the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Jeff is an excellent writer and an all around good guy.
Having said that, he’s also more than a little insane. As you can see up there, he’s a co-editor at Flying Island Press so he gets to read slush and help us find good stories. He’s also in charge of Pirate’s Cove, which has put out a ton of great full cast audio versions of Shakespeare plays and classic literature. Jeff does 99& of the work on those himself.
Jeff also knows his way around web servers and is an eleventh dan uber-geek. If you have a question or a problem along any of those lines, you’re likely to get a thoughtful and accurate answer from him.
Perhaps the best thing about Jeff though is his self deprecating sense of humor. Jeff and I play at being nemeses on Twitter and on the Galley Table, but I count him as a friend. Oddly enough, we’ve never actually met in person, but I hope to rectify that at a future Balticon.
So, there you have it! Follow Jeff Hite and you’ll get a good mix of humor and knowledge. Can’t ask for much more than that.
