The gentleman to the left is not an aging rock star, at least not in the traditional sense. As the blurb above suggests he is a well rounded individual and one well worth a follow. I got the opportunity to meet Jack (and yes I assume that’s his real name) at BSidesATL, an open source security conference in Atlanta and have been following him since then.

Information security has been an interest of mine for some time, though I’ve only been delving into it in the last year or so in a meaningful way. I’m following more people like Jack thanks to that interest. His tweets are more conversational than informational, similar to my own style, so you won’t be overwhelmed. He has strong opinions on a variety of tech with a focus on InfoSec and his blog is also well worth a read.

If you get an opportunity you should also check out any talks he gives. It looks like he’s a regular guest at the various BSides conferences and other cons around the country.

[Enjoy your weekend and be sure to check back on Monday for Part 2 of Scott’s Scrambled Bits series. We think you’ll like it.

We have now reached 25% of our goal in our hosting fundraiser. Thanks to everyone who has donated and supported us. We really appreciate your support in these tough financial times. If you haven’t donated, we ask you to consider sparing a buck or two to help us continue to bring you The Nifty Tech Blog. And we hope the new year brings good times and prosperity for all our readers. – Editor]
